“Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” - Jesus, Luke 6:38

Why Should You Give?

Giving tithes and offerings is a biblical principle, directed by God throughout the Old and New Testaments. When we live by this, a rich harvest is allowed into our lives.

Giving goes beyond merely finances — at Edgewater Church, it’s a lifestyle. When you purpose in your heart to give, whether it’s tithes and offerings in the church, directly to those in need, or your time and resources, you are sowing seeds that God will honor with a great return. And not just in finances, but in all aspects of life. He’ll make sure the right doors open, the right people come into your life, and protect what you earn.

When your heart is open to give, you are open to receive from God. And the quantity doesn’t matter.

God instructs us to “Test Me in this,” and “See if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings there will not be room enough to store it.” - Malachi 3:10

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” - Proverbs 3:9–10

“Bring the whole tithe to the storehouses, that there may be food in my house. ‘Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’ ” - Malachi 3:10

Every first Sunday of the month, Pastor Thad goes in-depth into the proper and correct use of giving, and dispels common abuses and misconceptions.
